Porte de Clichy, a changing district in the northwest of Paris

The Porte de Clichy district is an evolving multicultural area. It is lively and cosmopolitan and has a wide range of little stores, cafés, and inexpensive bistros. The area is popular with business visitors and families. Historically, the district was an industrial, working class suburb with a mixed urban fabric and a few surprises in store, like the fabulous Cité des Fleurs, created in 1847 on the private land of the commune of Batignolles-Monceau.

Chill out near Porte de Clichy

With its vast, undulating lawn, its deckchairs, playgrounds, and a water lily pond, Parc Clichy-Batignolles-Luther King (Impasse Chalabre) is the area's newest green space. In the neighboring Batignolles district, the Grande Loge de France (8 Rue de Puteaux) contains a cultural center dedicated to freemasonry. More unusual still, the pastoral Cité des Fleurs is a long, pedestrianized path bordered by single-family houses and small gardens overflowing with flowers.

A haven of peace for gallivanting

Shopping in Porte de Clichy is easily reachable on foot and particularly well-stocked. The Marché Navier takes place every Tuesday and Friday morning between Rue Navier, Rue Lantiez, and Rue des Epinettes. The market nicely complements the local stores scattered around the neighborhood. The district is served by the Porte de Clichy and Brochant metro stations (line 13) and the Porte de Clichy RER station (line C). Line 13 runs directly to the Saint-Lazare and Champs-Élysées-Clémenceau stations.
