The Quais d’Ivry, a bustling and active area

The Quais d'Ivry is also known for its mass industrialization. There is a Pathé multiplex movie theater. An immense incineration plant is based there, alone producing enough energy to supply 60,000 homes in the city. This gives the district a booming economy that has created many jobs making it a historic district near some outstanding sites. Although the Quais d'Ivry district is primarily a business and industrial area, it is ideally situated near monuments, buildings, and parks that are worth visiting.

Memories from the 17th Century

Next door to Porte d'Ivry, don't miss the famous Moulin de la Tour, a real treasure and the only survivor among the Val-de-Marne windmills. Constructed in 1674 during the reign of Louis XIV, it actually belonged to the seigneury of Ivry and Saint-Frambourg. Walking through the streets of Ivry, you can also admire buildings with miraculously preserved historical architecture. Finally, garden enthusiasts will just love the famous Parc des Cormailles, a real ecological work of art, which was awarded the 2007 Prix du Paysage (Landscape Award).

The Quais d'Ivry, on the outskirts of Paris, are particularly well served by public transportation. You can get there by taking metro line 7 to the Pierre et Marie Curie or Mairie d'Ivry stations.
