On the edge of the buzzing 'Place de Clichy'

Place Clichy has a special atmosphere where fantastical characters, night owls, and amused onlookers mingle. Cimetière de Montmartre, Cité des Fleurs and Square Hector Berlioz

A bit further still, at 20 Avenue Rachel, the Cimetière du Nord, more commonly known as the Cimetière de Montmartre, was opened in 1825. Wide, shady paths shelter the graves of famous people: Verlaine, Emile Zola, Théophile Gautier, the painters Vuillard and Degas, Pierre Dreyfus, Sacha Guitry, and Dalida are buried there. A stroll takes you on to Square Hector Berlioz (Place Adolphe Max), a small haven of peace where children can play. On the edge of the district, the pastoral Cité des Fleurs is a path bordered by family houses and small gardens overflowing with flowers.

While bobos (bourgeois bohemians) like to come to the Marché Navier, held on Tuesdays and Fridays, to buy fresh produce, Place Clichy is also known for its nocturnal establishments. Fast food outlets, pharmacies, and tobacco stores are open 24 hours a day. The district is served by Place de Clichy metro station (lines 2 and 13).
