From a quiet to a touristic place

Quiet and airy, it breathes life into the city thanks to its many green spaces and the wide streets developed by Baron Haussmann in the 19th century. It is probably the most comfortable and one of the quietest districts in the whole capital. A short distance away, it also allows you to discover Paris from another perspective.

Built between 1895 and 1897 and made famous by the poet Guillaume Apollinaire, the Pont Mirabeau is the highest bridge in Paris. The pillars represent boats traveling up and down the Seine.

Have a walk and encounter Paris’ secrets

At the end of the bridge, you can walk down to the quayside road and walk towards the Maison de la Radio and the Trocadéro. Coming back to the neighborhood, you can visit the Notre-Dame-d’Auteuil, situated on the Auteuil hill. The ogival form of the building's bell tower is stunning. This byzantine style is not very common in France. The great crypt has recently been renovated and can be entered through the back of the church. There is also an obelisk in the square in front of the religious monument.

Transportation and shopping

Although people tend to get around by taxi or bus, there is a rather unusual metro station, which only serves line 10 in the direction of Austerlitz. However, Église d’Auteuil station is not far.

For shopping, there are fewer stores than in the center of Paris or the more modest neighborhoods. It is easier to find a table in the large restaurants.
