A fun district for young and old
Year round, events punctuate the seasons: exhibitions, outdoor movies, theater performances, dances, circus shows, summer performances, workshops, etc. Opposite the Cité de la Musique, the Fontaine aux Lions de Nubie is one of the few remains of the slaughterhouse era in Paris, together with the Rotonde de la Villette and the Grande Halle. A former watering place, the fountain is now enjoyed by visitors who come to cool down on hot summer days. Next door, the huge Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie invites the public to discover scientific and terrestrial phenomena. The Géode and the Cinaxe complex will not disappoint.
A district to breath and party
A vast park dedicated to recreation Parc de la Villette is the largest green space in Paris. It offers fascinating and interesting walks where contemporary works intermingle with Mother Nature. These include the Jardin des Ombres, the Jardin des Équilibres, the Jardin des Miroirs, the Jardin des Frayeurs Enfantines and the Jardin des Îles, and many more.
In the evenings, crowds gather in front of the Zénith de Paris for concerts which has welcomed the world's biggest stars: Serge Gainsbourg, Oasis, The Cure, and, more recently, The Black Eyed Peas and more.
Getting to La Villette
The Cité des Sciences/La Villette district is accessible from Porte de Pantin (line 5) and Porte de la Villette (line 7) metro stations.
